Verner Panton trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. In Copenhagen he initially worked in Arne Jacobsen's, who designed the Egg Chair architectural practice. Verner Panton established his own design office in 1955. Later with the Verner Panton chair, he is credited first with the design of the very first single-form injection-molded plastic chair -the Stacking chair designed in 1960. Verner Panton was also the first to create inflatable furniture. One of the highlights of Verner Panton 's career is the Fantasy Landscapes he created for Bayer in 1968 that have now achieved cult status. Panton thought and created with the imaginary vision of a child, in bold colors and shapes - quite evident in the Panton chair. He died in 1998. Verner Panton stated "The main purpose of my work is to provoke people into using their imagination. Most people spend their lives housed in dreary, grey-beige conformity, mortally afraid of using colors." Verner Panton also said, "By experimenting with lighting, colors, textiles, and furniture, like the Verner Panton Chair and utilizing the latest technologies, I try to show new ways, to encourage people to use their fantasy and make their surroundings more exciting." The Verner Panton chair is still one of the most popular modern chairs today. The new polypropelene version of the panton chair is readily available. The Wassily Chair, also known as the Model B3 chair, was designed by Marcel Breuer in 1925 while he was the head of the cabinet making workshop at the Bauhaus, in Dessau, Germany. Please read the length of the sofa also, it is so tiny I would describe it as a love seat, not a sofa. But at this price one should not care, unless they want bragging rights to an artistic investment of dubious value. This chair is awesome! I really like it better than the picture on Amazon. Quite comfortable to sit in. I chose black to avoid showing dirt or scratches - you really need to consider how it will be used. Only time will tell how the injected molded material will wear over time, but at this price, it is easily replaced. There are different substances for injection molding, and unless you are an engineer or designer, we are at the mercy of the manufacturer. It all seems like "plastic", but I now know this not to be true. Some injected molded materials can withstand a 22 cal shell from 15 feet and only show a dent, BUT NO penetration or even crack. It would be interesting to know what compound is used, and its structural integrity over time and sittings. Despite all this, at this price, it is a nice look, very comfortable, and within my budget! When the table arrived it was very well packed, something to consider with such a heavy package. In great condition and exactly what we wanted. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the two wood pieces do not fit together as snugly as I would like. There's a bit too much give so that I really don't feel comfortable resting my feet on it. But why would you want to rest your feet on such a beautiful piece anyways?! Beware of cheap imitations by Robert Joe Beware of cheap imitations, namely to ensure that you have participated in all models of this type of chair before buying. I made a mistake and bought one online (not on Amazon). It 'proved to be a reproduction done on the cheap. This is what was wrong with mine. Straps support the padding is not very strong. Therefore, the head sinks and does not give very solid support. Overtime hours that will give even more clips of high-strength steel in bulk. The steel frame does not balance evenly on the base. Thus, this framework should lie twisty corners touch the base. One of the bar is too long, so I had to bring in a machine shop and cut 2/8th of an inch apart. And 'good will. I imagine that the tax deduction exceeds the cost of shipping to be paid in both directions. Read 1 comments ...

The best feedback December 12 people found this review helpful. nearly a 4-star product! but ... By Seth P. Amazon was great about shipping it, with the first free and came two days after ordering! Product arrived well packed and protected and decent quality of construction at first glance. Leather Leather / false may seem a bit fragile, but no big deal. Here are my questions, # 1 - the bars of the chair is that is supposed to be screwed to the bottom. This is the only assembly required, which is wonderful, but ... nuts are screwed on so tight, that injured Allen (very poor quality) that comes with trying to eliminate. He had to run to the hardware store for some WD30 and a new key to get it installed. A wound that could have been avoided so easily! # 2 - after finally getting the screws and rods ready to connect to the database, it was discovered that a bar is larger than the corresponding difference between the flanges of the base (~ 1 / 4 "). Had the hammer on one side in place for things to go .. I wondered whether it was $ 370 (+ $ 15 for accessories) well spent ... Then again, enter the original ~ $ 3000. If the seat itself - I'm quite happy ... are comfortable, looks good. The drum pad is a little weird anyway. Happier to be used as needed, the UN-affiliated to the chair. Happy shopping! 1 of 1 people found this review helpful. This is a big chair with some qualifiers. JJ is a great place at the best price out there! I'm a pretty 'fluffy' person, but I still take place in that size is a bit larger in length and width than the other models out there. It is also convenient, suitable for all body parts of curves in the right place and elastic bands support plate provides an extra level of cushiness. The frame sits evenly on the bottom with no gaps or irregularities. Assembly was easy, the hardest part to remove all packing materials. Once done, the assembly only involves loosening the screws of the two support bars and replace them, since they are linked to the structure that had a problem with a bolt that was too tight, but managed to drop it after a few minutes. There are no instructions, but not necessary. The only problems I have with the president are viable. As stated earlier, I took my pink head of foam pillow, it was too big and hard rock. I replaced it with a rolled-up old pillow cases and to provide softness and malleability. I also guarantee the pillow down on the chair to suit my neck. It is adjustable and can be placed anywhere in the plot. The chair is supposed to be adjustable up and down the slope of the basic structure, but as others have said, sliding down and not stand, even when you're not sitting on it. I solved it by tying an old black leather purse strap and just end of the frame to the base to keep the chair upright While inconvenient, I can adjust the length of the strap to adjust the pitch. I like the reclining position of the chair in its upright mode, so it's no problem because I do not see him very fit. If you do not this is a chair for those who sit upright itself and in its highest position, do not sit straight up. I think it's perfectly fine for laptop work, reading and watching television herself. The only big problem I have with the chair is that I support straps that will eventually be replaced, especially in the buttocks area, such as those that stretches most when you sit down to see you. While all you have to do is pull the metal brackets holding the straps on the frame, which is very easy, I'm not happy with the lack of information on where to buy replacements. I checked the site Baxton, but I see no replacement available, provided it's me, is a place to buy them somewhere. Beware of cheap imitations by Robert Joe Beware of cheap imitations that, make sure that sat on a model of this type of chair before you buy. I made a mistake and bought one online (not on Amazon). It was eventually made a cheap reproduction. This is what was wrong with mine. The support provides the filling is not very strong. Therefore, the session drops too much and not give a firm support. Overtime will more about how the strength of steel clamps. The steel structure is not balanced over the base. So the image must be bent at all four corners at the base hit. One of the bars is too long, so I had to bring it to a machine shop and 2/8ths of an inch outside thread cutting. Goodwill. When he arrived, the frame is sturdy and well made, but the leather sofa is as thin as paper and has no smell of leather. I sent ModernLine furniture for more information on this and they responded right away, they said it was fine quality leather upper and the back and sides were "leather-match", or vinyl. But I can not tell the difference between skin "real" and vinyl. They do not look or smell different. My cats immediately sunk their claws into the skin and ripped. Why is paper thin, now there are holes. I was expecting hard, durable leather. It is not. The sofa is not comfortable, but quite difficult. The product is very economical. Looks good, but it is cheaply made in China. It is a rip-off, and I would definitely recommend this product as I am afarid get what you pay with sofas. Read 1 Comments ....

There were some scratches on the leg but not very noticeable after assembly. It's definitely a place for a person and not fit two people. Seth Amazon was great about this expedition, the first free and it arrived two days after ordering! Product came well packaged and protected, and decent build quality at first sight. Leather, leather / imitation may seem a little 'fragile but not a big deal. My questions are: # 1 - the president is sitting on the stems should be screwed to the base. This is the only assembly required, which is wonderful, but ... the nuts were screwed so tight, I damaged the Allen key (bad) that came with trying to remove them. Had to run to the hardware store for some WD30 and a new key to getting this thing together. A nuisance that could have been avoided so easily! # 2 - having finally found the screws out and ready to attack the stems at the base, it was discovered that the auction was the largest gap between the corresponding flanges on the base (~ 1 / 4 "). I had to negotiate an end in place to work .. I wonder if this was $ 370 (+ $ 15 in accessories) and was ... In addition, the original run ~ $ 3000. About the President - I am reasonably happy ... This is a great chair with a few qualifications. JJ This is a great chair, at the best price out there! I'm a little person "soft", but still fit in it as the size is a little more generous in length and width than other models out there. It is also comfortable fit every curve of your body in the right place with the elastic support for the platform to provide an extra level of cushiness. The picture is evenly over the base, holes or irregularities. Assembly was easy, the hardest part to remove all packaging. When completed, meaning that installation of just loosening the screws of the two supporting rods and when they are connected to the frame I had a problem with a screw that was too hard, but managed to release it after a few minutes replacement. There is no evidence, but they are not needed. The only problem I have with the chair in action. As others have said, I removed the pink foam from the head cushion because it's too big and heavy. I replaced it with a rolled up old sheets and pillow for softness and malleability to give. I also anchored the cushion further down in the seat to fit my throat. It is adjustable and can be attached anywhere on the frame. The chair must be adjustable by raising and lowering of the slope of the frame on the base, but as others have said, sliding down and will not remain upright when the seat. I solved this by taking an old bracelet black leather bag and just tie the end of the frame to the base to keep the chair upright, although difficult, can I change the length of the handle to tilt to adjust. I like the chair in its most upright position, so it's no problem because I do not see it very fitting. This is not a chair for those who want to do sit up, however, as in the highest position, you're not down. I think it is very normal laptop for work, reading and watching TV, however. The only big problem I have with the president, I see that the support strips to be replaced at some point, especially in the ass, as are those that stretches more when you sit. While all you need to do is pull the metal clips that the handles on the table is very easy, I'm not happy with the lack of information on where to buy replacements. Baxton I checked the site, but see no replacements available, is a presumption of a place to buy them somewhere. All in all, this is a great research, a surprisingly comfortable chair at a great price with a few usable.
