V. Panton S Chair - White Stack

Verner Panton trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. In Copenhagen he initially worked in Arne Jacobsen's, who designed the Egg Chair architectural practice. Verner Panton established his own design office in 1955. Later with the Verner Panton chair, he is credited first with the design of the very first single-form injection-molded plastic chair -the Stacking chair designed in 1960. Verner Panton was also the first to create inflatable furniture. One of the highlights of Verner Panton 's career is the Fantasy Landscapes he created for Bayer in 1968 that have now achieved cult status. Panton thought and created with the imaginary vision of a child, in bold colors and shapes - quite evident in the Panton chair. He died in 1998. Verner Panton stated "The main purpose of my work is to provoke people into using their imagination. Most people spend their lives housed in dreary, grey-beige conformity, mortally afraid of using colors." Verner Panton also said, "By experimenting with lighting, colors, textiles, and furniture, like the Verner Panton Chair and utilizing the latest technologies, I try to show new ways, to encourage people to use their fantasy and make their surroundings more exciting." The Verner Panton chair is still one of the most popular modern chairs today. The new polypropelene version of the panton chair is readily available. Great chair By mlav Just got this chair today, and I really like it! It looks really cool, is sturdy, and was an excellent price. Another reviewer said that it is not as aesthetically flawless as a designer piece, but I think it will work just fine for our family that includes a toddler :) I like it so much that I just bought a second! 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Nice chairs for the money By J. Eberly Was looking for a couple of white modern chairs to use as accents for my tulip table/chairs, so I bought these. The price was cheaper than I expected to pay, so I wasn't sure of the quality I would receive. Pretty happy when they arrived. Smooth white, no scratches, and fair quality. Wassily Lounge Chair

The Wassily Chair, also known as the Model B3 chair, was designed by Marcel Breuer in 1925 while he was the head of the cabinet making workshop at the Bauhaus, in Dessau, Germany. Despite popular belief, the chair was not designed for the non objective painter Wassily Kandinsky, who was concurrently on the Bauhaus faculty. However, Kandinsky had admired the completed design, and Breuer fabricated a duplicate for Kandinsky's personal quarters. The chair became known as Wassily decades later, when it was re-released byan Italian manufacturer who had learned of the anecdotal Kandinsky connection in the course of its research on the chair's origins. This chair was revolutionary in the use of the materials bent tubular steel and canvas and methods of manufacturing. It is said that the handlebar of Breuer's 'Adler' bicycle inspired him to use steel tubing to build the chair, and it proved to be an appropriate material because it was available in quantity. The design and all subsequent steel tubing furniture was technologically feasible only because the German steel manufacturer Mannesmann had recently perfected a process for making seamless steel tubing. Previously, steel tubing had a welded seam, which would collapse when the tubing was bent.

Please read the length of the sofa also, it is so tiny I would describe it as a love seat, not a sofa. One more thing the sofa bed isn't long enough, to stretch the lenghth out you have to connect the back rest part of the sofa to the seating part that you let out. See all 1 customer reviews...

Most helpful customer reviews 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. S Chair By Phil H While, as has been noted by others, this is not original. But at this price one should not care, unless they want bragging rights to an artistic investment of dubious value. This chair is awesome! I really like it better than the picture on Amazon. Quite comfortable to sit in. I chose black to avoid showing dirt or scratches - you really need to consider how it will be used. Only time will tell how the injected molded material will wear over time, but at this price, it is easily replaced. There are different substances for injection molding, and unless you are an engineer or designer, we are at the mercy of the manufacturer. It all seems like "plastic", but I now know this not to be true. Some injected molded materials can withstand a 22 cal shell from 15 feet and only show a dent, BUT NO penetration or even crack. It would be interesting to know what compound is used, and its structural integrity over time and sittings. Despite all this, at this price, it is a nice look, very comfortable, and within my budget! Thanks for packaging it so well and the timely delivery. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. WOW By Kimberly Love the style...ADORE the price! They wew delivered quickly, well packed, and they look SO beautiful (THE new seating for the dining table). 4 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Nice chair, but it is not original By Matthew Ross For $75 and $425 off the purchase retail, I doubt this is the real thing. So be warned of quality issues for that much off. As sometimes occurs, something was lost during shipping. The manufacturer was very helpful is resolving this situation for me. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great Table! By Joshua R. Berg Me and my wife really love this table. In our livingroom we have a red leather couch with this coffee table sitting on a white shag carpet. Looks fantastic on the shag. When the table arrived it was very well packed, something to consider with such a heavy package. In great condition and exactly what we wanted. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the two wood pieces do not fit together as snugly as I would like. There's a bit too much give so that I really don't feel comfortable resting my feet on it. But why would you want to rest your feet on such a beautiful piece anyways?! Highly recommended! 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Exactly what I was looking for! By Spycj1s This table was exactly what I was looking for.
